Adult Ministries

Community

We offer a wide range of opportunities for adults to grow in their spiritual practice, study of scripture and faith life. From our Sunday morning education hour to mid-week and seasonal opportunities, you will find a place to grow your faith and your community.

Koinonia Class

A diverse group of people from various faith backgrounds, who are open to exploring the Christian faith and developing their understanding of what it means to be a committed and serving Christian. Studies chosen by the class include Biblical studies, books by religious authors about current and classic Christian issues. Class time emphasizes class discussion, careful listening, and faith that the Spirit speaks through the words and experiences of each of us. Visitors are always welcome!

Mosaic Class

Mosaic is a conversational exploration of contemporary religious and spiritual thought leaders and their works as seen through the lens of current events. As the name suggests, the composition of the class reflects an openness to and desire for a diversity of theological perspectives.

Kemp Class

The class roots its discussions in sacred texts and discusses material to strengthen corporate and individual faith and discipleship both inside and outside of the church.

Torah Talk

The Torah Talk Group follows the Jewish Torah reading cycle, creating space to wrestle with scripture through curiosity, debate, and shared imagination. Our study is grounded in Everett Fox’s translation, The Five Books of Moses, which preserves the rhythm, repetition, and poetic power of the Hebrew text—helping us hear these ancient stories with fresh ears. Together, we ask hard questions, honor multiple perspectives, and explore how scripture continues to shape our understanding of justice, liberation, and communal responsibility today.

Seasonal Opportunities

In addition to our Sunday morning classes, we offer seasonal education opportunities that seek to expand our understanding of our faith and deepen our commitment to wholeness, inclusion, and justice. These opportunities have included: a yearly intergenerational discipleship class, book clubs (fiction, non-fiction, theological and secular), pastor-led studies, short-term topical and thematic classes, documentary screenings, guest speakers, devotional groups, and retreats.

We are a community eager to learn in an inclusive and courageous community, and in that spirit we are consistently creating new opportunities that honor many different learning styles.
