It is hard to imagine that May will soon be here. My last three transitional posts have taught me how quickly time passes. That is certainly the case here in Chattanooga. As you recall, last fall the congregation’s Worship Department began the process of reorganizing our Sunday morning worship service. Conversations with the Cabinet and Elders helped in shaping what we currently use as an order of worship.

The understanding with the congregation and its leadership was that the Worship Department would evaluate the service sometime after Easter. And it’s time to do that. Several of you have made excellent suggestions along the way. Now we need to survey the entire congregation to hear from each attending member.

The Worship Dept. will develop a survey for your responses and provide feedback to the congregation. This feedback loop can help us be more faithful in our collective worship experience, one of giving God praise and thanks. Too, it can more strongly underscore the intentions of our mission statement. Can we meet the need of each of you? Nope! Can we do a better job of shaping the worship service for everyone? Yup! But most importantly, can our service better engender our gratitude to God AND be more invitational to our neighbors? I think it can.

I look forward to this time of reshaping our recent routine. You have proven to be a flexible and faithful congregation.  And for that, I am truly grateful. Blessings to you, God’s resurrection people.
