At First Christian Church, we live out our faith by supporting our community partners through hands-on service and a designated outreach fund.
Community
Our faith flows from worship–but it doesn’t stop at the sanctuary doors. Throughout the year our community creates opportunities to serve our neighbors in Chattanooga. We aim to make service opportunities an experience where our youngest to our oldest can fully participate.
A Table Church
We serve lunch and dinner on Fridays at the CHATT Foundation, our “Biscuit Brigade” makes sausage biscuits for the Regional Outreach Cooperative to deliver to unhoused individuals, we provide monthly meals to unhoused people in respite and hospice care through Welcome Home.
While we have regular and consistent opportunities for service, we remain open to new ways to serve others as needs arise, and we offer seasonal outreach events as well.

We are an Open & Affirming church that experience God’s welcoming love through Jesus Christ and affirm the worth, dignity, and gifts of all people. We seek God’s wholeness in a fragmented world by proclaiming the inclusive message of Jesus and practicing unity through shared worship, community service, and open dialogue. From this commitment to how we worship flows a variety of opportunities to put our faith in action. We participate annually at the Seed Theatre’s Youth Pride Festival and at Chattanooga Pride, and you’ll meet many of our people at protests or hosting and participating in community events advocating for the world that God dreams for us.
