What to Expect

We want your visit to the church to be as smooth as possible, whether it’s your first Sunday or any Sunday after.

All Are Welcome

At First Christian Church, we open our doors and tables for all kinds of people to meet each other, explore spacious faith together, live in God’s love and seek justice to make Chattanooga a better place for everyone.

We gather for worship each Sunday at 11am at 650 McCallie Ave.

Plan Your Visit

We know that visiting a new church can often be intimidating, so don’t worry; we won’t ask you to raise your hand as our guest or do anything that will embarrass or single you out.

If you’re ready to plan your visit, let us know you’re coming so we can be looking for you!

What's Sunday Like?

Explore a few questions people ask most to get a feel for what to expect on Sundays.

Where do I go?

When you visit us on a Sunday, you’ll find lots of parking. Walk in the door, in the center of the parking lot under the portico and a greeter will meet you and help direct you to our sanctuary, children’s spaces, restrooms or anything else you may need.

What do I do before worship?

The Crane Lounge (to the left at the top of the stairs) is the perfect place to grab coffee and a snack, and find community.

We have a variety of Sunday School classes and community groups that meet at 9:30 AM for all ages. Stop by the main entrance and let us help you find your way.

How do I get there?

We are located at 650 McCallie Ave. Primary entrance is at the rear of the building.
An elevator is available from the lower lobby.

Our main parking lot is on Campus Drive, on the left side of the building. Handicapped parking is provided.

What is the service like?

Join us for traditional yet informal worship every Sunday at 11 AM, both in our sanctuary and online. Our services blend diverse music—from pipe organs to accordions—with leadership from all ages, creating a space where everyone is welcome as their full selves. At the heart of our community is a weekly, radically open table where we celebrate communion as a reminder of God’s expansive love. We hope you find a place of wonder and connection here that sends you into your week with hope and courage.

What about my kids?

HEREChildren are welcome to come to worship with you, or experience Children’s Church or our nursery - whatever’s best for you is great for us! Get all the info HERE.

We know it takes a lot of work to get to church. Relax and remember, God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house. All are welcome!

How do we keep kids safe?

Volunteers in our children’s ministry are a part of a team who works together to make sure each kid’s needs are met. Each volunteer in our children’s ministry has been vetted and passed a background check.
